Our Vision

AI Camp is an Australian-based education and research organisation dedicated to reimagining how young people engage with Artificial Intelligence. We design and deliver innovative afterschool and holiday programs for children aged 8–13, combining hands-on, age-appropriate learning with a strong emphasis on ethics, creativity, and critical thinking.

Founded and led by Dr Jinan Zou, a researcher at the Australian Institute for Machine Learning (AIML), AI Camp was established with a dual mission:

1. To deliver high-quality, engaging AI education that inspires curiosity and confidence in primary-aged students.
    
2. To conduct cutting-edge research into how AI can be taught responsibly in schools, including the development of a custom AI learning framework aligned with the Australian curriculum.
    

At AI Camp, we believe that AI is not just a technical skill—it is a new literacy for the 21st century. Our programs don’t just teach students how AI works; they empower young learners to ask questions, think critically, and contribute meaningfully to the technologies shaping their world.

What sets AI Camp apart is our diverse and passionate team. All of our facilitators are:

– Industry professionals working at the forefront of AI and data science,
– Active researchers in education and machine learning,
– Qualified teachers with formal training and classroom experience, or
– Final-year university students specialising in computer science and artificial intelligence.

More than anything, we are united by a genuine love for working with children. We know how to make complex ideas accessible, exciting, and relevant—creating a space where every child feels empowered to explore, experiment, and grow.
